Based on what? Smells like a troll to me.
I wondered for a while too, but agree with Rickair....why? There weren't any clues or tell-tale signs that it was tongue-in-cheek hyperbole; no implied "wink-wink."

Many ERAU grads are great guys and great pilots, but The Golden Egos did nothing for the school.

It was a good education. But the flying was built for making a shat ton of money off a bloated hour-building syllabus.
^^^ This. (Although I was unfamiliar with the Golden Eagles).

I had quite a few ERAU guys as Air Force student pilots. They were usually nice kids, with a decent education, but generally middle of the pack in overall flying performance. I think most of them went through a period of reckoning where they came to terms with the reality that there was a lot more to aviation than they had been shown at ER. (And I think they had some guilt that someone paid a whole lot of money for a school that didn't give them as big an advantage as they had hoped).
