For those with NY experience, what are some other family friendly cities and areas to consider living within 1-2 hour driving distance of EWR (PA/NJ/NY)? Hoping to get picked up in the next year and trying to get an idea of what some options are at these junior bases. Thanks!
I grew up in NYC, but have spent the last 35 years in the Hudson Valley, specifically Monroe NY. Huge bang for the buck, $300K will buy you a 4-bedroom house on 1/2 acre. Taxes are high though. You can reach EWR in one hour ten minutes on a good day, two hours on a really bad day. Many NYC professionals live up here because Long Island, Westchester, and metro New Jersey are way too expensive.
