The company wants it, what does that tell you? Yeah.

The bean counters see every DH as wasted money, and requiring more crews. Eliminate 50% of the DH by opening virtual bases, like JFK for all the 777 departures out of there, and you have just eliminated the need for many 777 pilots, and for the remaining 777 pilots, cut their pay per trip, as the DH legs go away on front and back of the trips.

Kills two birds for the company; less wide body pilots required, and less pay per trip for the ones remaining.

Now do the same thing with the 747's. Now the A330's. Starting to smell the synergy?

It's Win Win, but for them only.
It was like the guys that initially bid LAX 777. They were like..."sweet"

Then they were like..."what was I thinking?"

Some bid right back out. They gave away their credit time and positive space commute...boom...whoops.
