Agreed.

The problem I see with virtual bases is that the company can change it willy nilly and there are no ramifications. This month PDX is a 330 VB, 3 months later BOS is a 330 VB. Meanwhile, all the guys who were driving to work are now commuting again.

VB = no obligation and no ramifications to the company.

Not to mention the lost DH time on both ends, and the lost PS DH, now you'll have to book a jump seat. Good luck!

Agreed. Add to that where does the flying come from? They open a VB in PDX for the 330... do the hours come from the SEA base....or from the ATL base? Huge issue there.

If the company wants a base somewhere, let them open one via the AE process.

And my virtual retirement, not to mention I was virtually able to get a seat as a nonrev.
