I concur. The devil is in the details with this issue. If we go this route, not saying that we should, we should ensure a trial period in which either side can terminate the program at will. This will give DALPA a chance to analyze the unintended consequences which are a given, and may be detrimental to the Pilots.

The company has to come to the realization that they have squeezed as much blood from the stone as there is. Anything more will increase sick leave. It's a direct cause and effect, pilots are tired from working too much and it's wearing us out. They are already seeing this but their answer is "work more"....Lunacy.
No more to give.

The perceived QOL improvement is you can drive to work in a virtual base instead of commuting. The reality is it's the same trip without the deadhead pay and credit to/from ATL, DTW, etc. We are giving up a positive space commute with pay. If traded for improvements in other areas, it may provide a value to both sides.

Do you think it will take less pilots or more pilots if v basing is allowed? Hint, it's not more

Vacation sell back should be a non-starter, I agree. How do virtual bases abrogate seniority? I think it would come down to how it's done as Scoop mentioned earlier.

You think vacation sell back is a non starter? Well just as you might find VB appealing...... there are pilots who view selling the time off as likewise 'good all around'. You wouldn't be a commuter by chance?
Management is currently free to open bases wherever they want.
We already provide generous co-domicile accommodations.
We already allow operations like sea. I don't get it.....
And somehow we still are trying to 'solve' their problems?

I don't have strong opinions on either of these topics when observed in a void and out of context. I just don't think we need to be making concessions in this economic environment, and both of these issues increase productivity which is a definite concession.
