The last MEC disbanded the NC, and for good cause. It is simply not needed right now. It is a waste of money. Use that money for something that helps the pilots. Informational picketing is a good start. Use the money for that. Send out mailers telling people how PSA continually violates our contract, shorts us in pay, and treats us poorly.
If there is something that is to be negotiated, then our MEC is lying to us and hiding it from us. If this is the case, then I am even more ashamed of them.
I have only flown for ALPA carriers, and support ALPA. It is our weak MEC that I have a problem with.
In my opinion, after 10 years of being an ALPA member, this MEC is not weak. I think a lot of you are more upset with the system that is rigged against unions (remember that next time you head to the voting booth) where companies can violate contracts for years with no recourse until an arbitrator makes them stop. That isn't ALPA's fault, it is our fault for placing anti union representatives in office that won't change the RLA to give us leverage. Until then most of us agreed to work for PSA under contract 2013 for at least 10 years, anything that can be negotiated and improved upon prior to that is more than we signed on for and I support our NC. If it is really that bad for some of you maybe another carrier would make you happier. In just the past year we have made improvements including getting a true flow, commuter hotels, and AAG has given us ipads and profit sharing. Let the new NC actually do their job with support from us, not having a NC is a ridiculous idea. Why should we turn down improvements just because they aren't good enough for you? Why did you agree to work under C2013 in the first place? Sounds like buyers remorse.
