And what is the cost benefit to the company for pilots flying even though they should call in sick but don't? This happens a lot for a variety of reasons. As for the "costs" of OE trip drops, first back out the cost of the one year new hire freeze that we gave the company in exchange for the trip drops in the first place! I bet that savings equals or exceeds it if it was properly costed out (hint: its WAY more than just sim time cost).
More importantly, what are the total and complete costs of their radical million fleet type model, churn, training bubbles, and yes, OE trip drops that it causes LOL!
There is no justification for concessions at this time. We gave at the office already, many many times. If they want something to "address their needs" we need to first get a home run all win contract that puts us above UAL with zero concessions, and then they can come, item by item, to us for LOA/MEMRAT consideration. I doubt they will be able to afford vary many concessions in that case, which is why they prefer the fuzzy math/fog of war strategy that calls PS trade offs and future COLA's as "raises"
