Those may be above the mean, but those are numbers I was told by someone who was there.

Also, it's not just AQP. Fail two written exams, or one written and a FTD PV, and you are gone, before you ever get to the AQP portion.
The APD I spoke with said it's 18% overall not just training failures. At some point I think it's best to just cut the ties, but it seriously is pretty hard to get to that point. They work pretty hard to get people through. Hats off to the instructors. I personally don't think I'd have the patience for it. People today are given much more latitude than as recent as 3 years ago. I don't think I've heard of a successful candidate requiring several extra sim lessons or double the allotted IOE until this year. In all fairness though, we have lost a lot of really good instructors also
