Makes me wonder why a company would give a pay raise in the first place.
I have thought this for a long time as well, however, I really am starting to think that if they don't pull their heads out of their a$$es and pay the pilot group we will start seeing major attrition and very little interest in people coming here. Look at Republic. They stalled for the better part of a decade and all it bought them was a few good years in the short term, and then huge amounts of cancellations, shrinkage, and a bankruptcy. I (huge pessimist by nature) actually see this happening here in only a couple years. Add that to the probable Frontier merger (you know the ONLY narrow body operator in the country who pays at all less than us if Allegiant votes in their TA) and we will have major problems in the near future. They need to start attracting pilots who will want to be here for their careers, not just stop in for a Type which is pretty much who we are getting now, and the only way to do that is to come to the table with meaningful improvements.
