I did this exact same thing a couple years ago, and watch our fleet go from 140+ CRJ-200 down to about 25. While many pilots were getting downgraded. The problem is you never know what United, Delta, or American is going to do with the regionals.
Yes, good points for applicants to consider. But look at what you're stepping into. I won't waste your time with talk about indefinite upgrade times and 50%+ below market pay rates.
I think as pilots we are naturally optimist and think we can save any situation.
Just come here expecting to fly with great guys who are happy despite the downsides and a low tier management focused on profit above employee well being.
