PSA just removed one of the CRJ200 sims out of CVG, and a new 700/900 sim was installed in CLT. Most of the sim instructors in CVG are having to commute to CLT to work. CVG's training/sim base will be closing, as will the pilot base. The only reason for the pilot base was to allow the sim instructors to be "based" there. So, once the last sim is shut down (and PSA gets rid on the CRJ200's), there is no reason for a CVG base. Even if we continue to fly a few 200's, one of the 700/900 sims in CLT is convertible to be a 200 sim.
CVG hasn't grown they way that AAG wanted it to, and will be pulling the sims out of FlightSafety CVG and closing the pilot base. (At least that is the word from all of the sim instructors).
The pilots that are actually based there and fly airplanes will be offered DAY, which is pretty close. That will leave PSA to open another commutable base to help with hiring.
That is the idea, anyways.
