No need to think all is lost, at the moment growth happens to be nyc, guess what- those super junior (new hires) go to NYC. When more new hires come, that backfills NYC for those who are now more senior to move to where they want. Happened a decade ago for me, will happen for the next new hire class. Guess what, it's short term and in hindsight it worked out well.
