Not sure what I'm misunderstanding, DHL acquired the airplanes but the CMI contract went out to bid. ABX, Atlas, and Capital Cargo(that I know of) put in bids to operate the airplanes. CCIA was knocked out by ABX's scope clause, and Muckle and crew were SURE that ABX was going to get the work. In the end, Atlas got the CMI contract and got their foot in the door into ABX's bread and butter work. Granted this was before 1224's big solidarity push, but don't ever underestimate another carrier willing to do your work for less.
