Not every company can do it for you. Or at least it used to be that way. I also thought I was going to be able to do it during a subsequent training event, but Mesa check-airmen were not authorized to do it, at least when I got hired about two years ago. Same thing with RAH. So I ended up going to the local FSDO with a paper 8710, logbook and all other documents mentioned here. It took about an hour and several calls to Oklahoma City to figure out how to remove the restriction.
Is good to know some companies are doing it now.
