UPS and FedEx had a strong presence there. I think both companies have pilots that are on the executive board or advisory board of OBAP. Kalitta and Ameriflight were also there. That's all I remember from the freighters. I could have missed one. Expect for the legacy carriers, If you walked by anyone and made eye contact they wanted to speak with you.
Lots of hand shaking and talking. Big 2 were doing onsite "meet and greet" discussions which for some will lead to step 2 in the process. I spent the majority of my time with UPS as that is where I want to finish my career. Everyone was upbeat about the future of the freight industry as a whole and it is my opinion the bigger operators are getting ahead of the curve somewhat.
I enjoyed the convention. It was great to see something positive in this industry for a change.
