QOL is terrible here.

This past rotation I worked 8 out of 10 and was away from home for 6 nights. I spent last weekend in Aspen driving a 4x4 Jeep on off-road trails with the top and doors off.

The previous rotation I worked 9 out of 10 with 2 nights in Appleton, WI which netted a full day at Oshkosh.

Next month I'm taking my wife to Vermont for the weekend using Southwest, Hertz, and Marriott points. Total trip cost roughly $25 + food and gas. The hotel/airline/rental points add up. We don't have jump seat privileges but you will rack up a hefty amount of Southwest points and status.

To elaborate on the schedule in particular, it's a gamble. You can get lucky and have some awesome trips and have a great time on the road or you can get stuck in Midland, TX. There is no "trip" designs that get you back home after "x" amount of days. Your 10 days on means you could be used all 10 and gone from home all 10. The longest stretch gone from home I've had recently is 6.

All that being said, we are very short on pilots right now. Everyone is working A LOT so QOL & morale is down. I've heard we will be hiring 25 pilots to fill the vacancies and hard day off pay is going up to $700/day in order to get people to work their off days.
