9E is in a unique spot in regard that we have a large percentage of the pilot group that has job offers from another company. Once we lose the last 250 attrition out of this place will probably be on par with other regionals. At the rate majors need to hire, I don't think anyone will become super stagnant.
It's also fairly accepted that if we can staff it, DL will likely give us the flying. While other regionals may start to shrink, this one is in a position to grow and we are hiring for growth. Especially with no more 200s coming this year the amount of people we are hiring doesn't make a lot of sense. Hence the statement "if we can staff it we will fly it".
My thoughts exactly, we are still pushing hard to bring in new hires even though Kingman birds are on pause. There is something good in store for this group down the road in regards to more flying (hopefully somewhere other than NYC) IMHO.
