61.159(a)(v) allows the 250 pic requirement of the ATP to be met with SIC time (while performing the duties of PIC under the supervision of a PIC). I've been logging the time I'm performing the duties as PIC (i.e taxi, taxeoff, enroute, approach and landing) as a separate column in my logbook , but still as SIC) are regionals giving guys a hard time over this that you know of?
I could always log the time as PIC because I'm the sole manipulator and rated, but it's so much simpler to log it all as SIC.
After a long discussion with the Endeavor recruiters and a back and forth with the POI/FSDO, SIC time is only counted at Endeavor from a part 135 operator assuming the following provisions are met:
1. Ensure the FAA approved the 135 initial and annual recurrent training is provided for both the PIC and SIC including the items found in 135.293 (a) items (1) through (9).
2. A competency check by the FAA or authorized check pilot in the class of aircraft that these knowledge tests and flights checks are documented and entered into the PRIA system.
3. Ensure, based on contract with the company that the FAA accepts or has accepted company time as SIC towards the upgrade requirements to act as PIC when a company application for PIC is made.
