Just keep this in mind: you are getting answers from people that are currently employed. It's a static snapshot only.
A person hired in late 2015 like me has a very different snapshot than someone hired in let's say June of this year.
I have over 50 below me in domicile and have held a blank line for months now...because of when I got hired. But with slow vertical movement, domiciles are filling up.
They will hire over 600 next year. Those folks will have very different stories than my own class will, so when asking "how long to hold a blank line," remember the answer is for a guy currently on property.
Seniority and timing are the key players.
