That would make sense, but it isn't how the DOT measures it. Until they change it, AA won't change it.

They should measure arrival times, not departure times. Passengers do not care if they leave 5 minutes late if they still arrive 10 minutes early. A regional airline's main goal should be for passengers to make their connections. We need to arrive on time at the hub, with as many passengers as we could get from the outstations - and leave the hub with as many passengers as possible.

I don't control how they record the times, but I will gladly take the $800-$1000 a year in free money that they give us.
