They actually planned it. It was designed to increase the success rate of new hires. They figured that if half of the class had 5000+ hours in a CRJ, and the other half had zero hours, then the 5000+ hour pilots would pair up with the pilots with zero and help them through.
That might tell a good story, but it wasent planned. They were tickled sh!tless that guys from other CRJ carriers were even applying.
