This is so true! The funny thing is 95% of the guys saying that have put no effort into trying. They find comfort in their decision to stay by using this crutch. I've yet to find a person who says this that has an updated app, current logbook, and are going to job fairs or interview prep. It's just an excuse to not even try.
That wasn't my experience. All the senior CAs I knew and was referencing had updated apps, clean records, aviation degrees, lots of 121 experience, had been to job fairs, yet still couldn't get an interview while most of their FOs were waiting on a class date or had an interview coming up.
