No to defend the soft-science(y) Hogan but I think it's a good idea to route out personality disorders in a job that is basically impossible to get fired from. We've all flown with some real 'winners' over the years and I know at least two people here that have almost entires bases bidding 'avoid' who are perfectly capable pilots who just have pi$$ poor attitudes who make life bad for everyone they come into contact with from pilots to passengers... I think this is right on - even tough I don't know the folks being referenced here .....
Given what is at stake I am sure HR wants to avoid false positives even at the risk of a few too many false negatives.
