By all means share your specific criticisms of ALPA communications so they can be addressed. Better yet tell us what you have done to make them better.
Wow, I touched a nerve huh? Did you have anything to with this:
UAL Pilots > UAL MEC Public Page
So, let's see. Try going to the UAL MEC web site and search for the SSC report from Summer 2005 (search for anything!). Or try this, go to the Jumpseat guide on the MEC site and tell me who rides first on United metal, Colgan or ASA (hint, they both ceased operations about 5 years ago). Or assume your a member of the media wanting to read a press release from the MEC. Too bad! you have to log in first. I'm sure I'm not the only pilot who has a problem with wrong, outdated, and inaccessible information from an organization that claims to represent me.
You read my criticism as a slap at fellow United pilots, but you couldn't be more wrong. UAL pilot volunteers are no doubt the life blood of the union and their collective body of work should be available. The sad reality is that UAL MEC communications has become Facebook and Twitter posts punctuated by an occasional email, I'm not OK with that.
ALPA National provides the IT infrastructure and full-time MEC office communications staff. Do you think we're getting our money's worth? I don't.
At what point do UAL pilots demand adequate resources and staff from Herndon?
