I honestly don't have time for "collective dialog." The more touchey-feeley it is the more I am turned off. I am a "just the facts" type of person. I think younger high-school age people may be interested in stories if they can put their smart-phones down and pay attention, but busy professionals really don't.
I agree that the most effective communications are brief and concise.
I also believe that our collective lore provides more unity than if our history was written in bullet points. The battles with Lorenzo, the next chapter of "From Wooden Wings", and lessons learned in the lost decade simply can't be effectively communicated in any other way than through story.
