Good luck gents. The frustration I had with my own inability to pick up charters after something happened in Fall 2012 is small part of why I bid to an FDA. The MD had the most interesting bidpack and most diverse flying, and even of you were junior every 2-4 months you might get lucky and get an intersting trip somewhere. I got to see Israel, Ireland, Azerbaijan, and a few other neat spots along the way and it was fun. I also thought it kept me motivated and in the books. Then one day...poof....never could get another. I went 1/10 prior, but even at those odds you would win now and and then. Then one day....nothing...time after time after time. I eventually quit even trying.
Ironically...I am now a few hours from doing a 76 charter into another country where I have never been, and I am looking forward to it. Like many charters, it had a healthy bank which let me get back from a trip to the states comfortably. Glad to get back into the charter gig again, but I had to sell my house, my cars, my boats, and a plane to make it happen. YMMV.
