I'm a July hire. They started giving everyone NYC back then. I just picked up DTW on the last vacancy bid. You'll potentially be in a better position to get DTW quicker since NYC is getting close to being staffed up, but you'll sit reserve for a while in DTW so if you don't live in the area then I recommend NYC (JFK at the moment) for holding a line very quickly. One guy in my class didn't sit a single day of reserve in JFK.
I'll be living about 45 mins from DTW so I'm not too concerned with sitting reserve. In fact, I'd probably prefer it. Being from the area, it's hard to believe that DTW is going somewhat senior.
Can you confirm that the DTW aircraft options are the 200 & 700? Any pros/cons of either?
