But on the next major downturn our "peer set target" will be the stupidest group out there. Thanks to legislation like this, they'll be much "stupider" than before.
In theory, how many LUAL or LCAL pilots would have happily quit paying dues the day after the ISL was announced? Management only has to blow up the union
once to reap benefits for years and years, if not permanently. Once this legislation is passed the doomsday clock is ticking. The $$$ behind legislation like this has been waiting decades for the planets to align. At this point they are happy to light the fuse and let nature take its course.
