I've said this before but I guess it needs to be said again. A lot of us new hires are just as or more experienced than the captains we are flying with. We just decided not to work for pennies, so we flew corporate instead until the money got right (it still isn't there, but it's getting close). It doesn't make us spoiled or ungrateful, we just know what we are worth.

To help with the "sticker shock" of your bonus checks... The Federal taxes are withheld at 25% (typically higher than anyone here's normal Fed rate), on top of your other deductions. So a $6,666.68 gross check will end up being less than $4,490 by the time it hits your bank.
For anyone not currently working here, the bonus check every 4 months ends up at ~4k until tax returns come around.
Also, your comment above about raw data flying - completely agree.
