It's not close to the academy (OKC traffic always sucks), the neighborhood isn't the greatest, but the apartments themselves have usually gotten good reviews from the guys that went down there. i didn't say there and wouldn't stay there, but some of the other choices aren't a whole lot better, sometimes nice apartments in a so-so neighborhood (not bad, just not great), unless you want to drive more. I'd suggest looking at the newer apartments just next to Highway 40 on MacArthur. Southwest relative to highway.

Realistically, IB isn't that bad, lots of people stay there because they don't know what else to do. Used to work out real well for Indoc flight training, because it IS right next to WP airport, where they used to do that, but that's in the past now. Lots of people would go to IB because they had free dinner or something, so they'd save some per-diem. The long-term per diem is pretty low though, but the cost of living in OKC is also pretty low. It's possible you could say somewhere a little better/closer/nice and being paying a little out of pocket, which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if the difference was just a couple dollars. Most people (hopefully!) are going to buy groceries and cook, so you're looking for a place with a kitchen more than anything IMO.
