Less incentive to work. It's really better to just hire a crapload more half rate pilots, as long as they can hire, and currently, it appears that they can.
Yeah I'm pretty sure your wrong about that. If the pay goes up it will have the opposite effect. If you have say 5 or 6 days off and nothing to do you will be more inclined to pick up an extra 2 days because it may not be worth it for 800-900 bucks but if it's worth 1,400 - 1,600 you might be more inclined to get off of the couch for two days. Right now ( like many others ) I don't pick up open time because it's not worth it.
