I really don't think a great argument has been made for Spirit being taken over. If we could increase frequency and expand all across the country; then I could see a merger happening. With gas prices being low and the Legacy carriers doing just fine, think a merger at this time is more wishful thinking than anything else.
Q3 when Delta and United announce missed earnings due to missing hiring and training targets, they're going to be looking for a way to buy pilots who may just need differences training and a change in clothing. $2b in cash would go a long way towards smoothing out merger issues.
