During training, you are paid 24 hour per diem. Period.
After that, I am a little rusty. I believe that it is... (someone that has the contract in front of them can confirm or give more details about it).
After training, and before your relocation days, you are paid 24 hour per diem UNLESS the company has positive space traveled you to and from your base. If you have to commute on your own, they pay you the per diem. If they positive space travel you, then you are only receiving per diem when you are in base for a trip or set of reserve days. (I think that is how it worked)
After your relocation days, you just get per diem when you are working and away from base, or anytime that you are in training.
The important point is, when you are in training, you get full pay and 24 hour per diem.
