I am bemused by all the bleating and flying spittle regarding the ipad. There is a phenomenal amount of "stuff" on the web pertaining to flying, weather, travel, maps, cities, diet, exercise, etc that is germane to our occupation yet completely benign. Do guys really think that there's a group of sleuths in Willis pouring over this nonsense? And, that they're ready to pounce on the reckless offenders? Has anyone really gotten in hot water for reasonable (but not necessarily company use) of the ipad? I'm not talking material obviously beyond the edge of decorum, just oh hell, Yelp? Radar Now, Intellicast, SurfCam, Kindle, eBay, Pandora, CigarBar Finder, etc etc? Some guys are truly afraid of Mother and apparently, their own shadow.

I carry my own machine and use it for 99 percent of my personal surfing, but occasionally I act impetuously and veer way off the reservation and I use theirs. Who really cares and why the need to lecture the rest of us ad nauseam?

And for what its worth, just this week I asked about this very issue with a guy who has spent a lot of time in the Flight Office. He laughed and said there isn't the manpower for such trivial pursuit. They have far stinkier fish to fry.
