VTO is Vacation, Training, Other. After the main bids are awarded, VTO lines are created from VTO sources and people will then will then bid on these lines. If there isnt enough flying to create complete lines, the company puts on LCO days = long call-in days and the subject of the other thread. VTO's can be good for junior guys to get better schedules or a last ditch shot at getting days off you need. But you are bidding in the blind to a certain extent and if you get the last VTO award on the original bid you basically get whatever is leftover on the VTO bid.
Anyone who bids VTOs care to share what the flying typically looks like...?
