If you are required to be "booked" on two flights before your show time, are you required to take the first of the two booked?

Ex: Commuting from SDF to DCA. Two non-stop flights but 1st is at 1205pm and second is at 730pm. Can you book on both but elect to not take the first flight. (that is a huge time difference).

What are some tips to playing the commuting game?

Thanks
What is the point of being booked for the first one and not take it? Not sure I understand.

To use the commuter clause, you have to give yourself 2 opportunities to get to work. If you skip the first one, then you are only giving yourself 1 opportunity.
