Pilots cleaning the cabin is utterly degrading. Can you imagine telling an UAL captain to don blue gloves and cleaning the cabin? More power to you guys fighting this. The pilots going along with this should really reflect on how you are hurting the pilot profession.
Foregoing an interview to anywhere, including other regionals, to leave Mesa, seems a bit silly in this environment doesn't it? We have a lot of Mesa pilots here, and other regional/LCC guys still coming. How many of JetBlue pilots would go to Mesa, and how many Mesa guys would come to jetblue? Few Mesa captains make what a 2 year JB FO makes, and no Mesa captain makes what a 3 year JB FO makes. So from a purely economic standpoint, that's a silly idea. Lastly, when I was at Mesa, I had captains go cross seat belts (when that was a thing) and help FAs close window shades and clean to try to get the turn done more quickly, as well as throwing bags when rampers were hiding from the Phoenix heat or otherwise not doing their job at our gate. So it's no different there and it isn't even a suggestion to do that stuff. And, as was said, cleaning is not required of pilots unless nonrevving.
