It isn't required on paper, but the hell if they aren't trying to make it required in practice.
I've been here for almost 4 years on both fleets and have never experienced what you're talking about. I've heard stories here and there about rogue flight attendants thinking pilots are supposed to clean and then said flight attendant being educated on whose job is whose. Hardly a culture of animosity between the groups. I never clean and get along great with every FA I work with. Even had a great overnight the other night where the 5 of us all went out to dinner and had a great time.
