Ahhhhh....but there is the rub....

FOM says that check in must be done at a sabre computing site, and IF it isnt available, by phone to scheduling. So the FOM says if the location has a sabre computer to check in to start a trip, you have to for checking in at a Sabre computer. Its ridiculous, I know

I dont go to the crew room unless I need Saniwipes, but knowing that (no shocker) our manuals and CBA conflict with each other should not come to surprise anyone.

The 3 hour call out. New guys please remember that the CBA says the pilot will make "his best effort to arrive at the aircraft prior to the departure time." So when scheduling calls you at the start of your RAP and asks if you can make it to the airport in 1.5 hours for a reserve trip, dont say "NO, I wont." Be smart and say "Based at where im located right now, I wont make it under 3 hours to aircraft departure time, even with my best efforts." Its how you say "no" but also comply with the language and requirements of the CBA. Write it down and have it by your phone, so when you phone rings at 3am, and you're half awake, you can read.
