Joe,
Things are indeed going well at the moment; arguably, the best they've been in my 18+ years. I would like to politely and respectfully suggest that the tone you take in your original post might lack some understanding of others' situations and is in need of a bit more decorum. Specifically in baring your soul to the forum world about this awful dilemma you have.
I'm writing this not because I'm offended or jealous in any way; I'm not. But rather that I'm hoping you won't become one of "those guys" who, out of a lack of perspective and not malice, forgets how good he has it and allows his musings like this to change into complaints.
We can all be very happy with the way things are going at this point in history, but please just don't be the WB Captain who brags about all the senior manning and soft time he gets or the guy who complains to his new-hire FO about how much the annual costs this year on his Baron.
Maybe, as a group, we need to embrace more of the traditional professional norms with regard to compensation. It's not considered acceptable in most other professions to discuss pay. Ironically, in this industry, we all know what the other people in the cockpit make.
Again, nothing personal. Good luck with your decision.
