I take the out-of-the-box Van Heusens, and my tailor tapers the sides from sleeve tip to bottom, shortens the sleeves, creates a right pocket pen slot and it's a wayyyy better shirt. I do like 3 at a time for about $40-50, note it for taxes, and I'm good for another year or two. Easy, cheap, and worth the comfortable, useful feel.
I have done the same thing as well. I wish the shirts were better quality. I am personally not a fan of the non VH shirts they mades us buy in training.
