There are more white males employed as airline pilots than their percentage of the population would suggest. I don't see a problem here any more than I see a problem with the majority of hair stylists being female or the majority of schoolteachers being female. Soon female lawyers will outnumber male lawyers. The root cause is probably a cultural bias towards these professions that is picked up at an early age.

I do have a problem with the following: A group of 100 pilots start day one of flight school. Half are African American and half are white. Five years later which half has been more successful at landing jobs at major airlines. Be honest before you answer. If everything were "standardized" as someone suggested wouldn't the results be exactly the same?

One can argue the merits all they want but affirmative action (although not explicitl) exists. Honesty is on the path to enlightenment.
