Small town aviation is tough if you don't own your own plane. I was in or near Atlanta for many years prior to coming to a small north Georgia town, and I suffered a significant loss of flying opportunites when I left the city. There is a skydiving outfit 35 miles out that hires me and couple of rental outifts with aged Cessnas for rent, but no twins, tailwheels, glass panel, turbo or high power rentals and the one flight school is 45 miles away. In a small town are always a small number of companies that come and go in Lears and a few dozen hobby pilots on the local field, but the airport is quiet most of time. You can easily forget what it is to be a pilot in a small town and it illustrates that most of aviation is urban. I am moving to Wichita next month and look forward to the change.

Great to hear it, Sky. Fly safe.
