In regards to better jobs, the comment was made for people who are qualified and current in specific widebody types, i.e. the 747-400 and 777. Those jobs you will never see published and will only hear about from word of mouth. It takes a lot of networking and a little luck to find them . SIA Cargo and SIA are okay if you need to get the type rating and can handle the 5 year 8 month commitment. Personally I prefer Emirates for lifestyle issues, even though I speak Mandarin and my wife is Chinese. Sinagapore has some appeal to us, but I would rather live in a villa with a yard than a high rise apartment building. I would rather have a car instead of relying on taxis and mass transport.
