I'd like to see something resembling a Twitter feed set up where you can text your commute status rather than calling in to the Crew Desk.

For example, if I have to scramble for my backup commute flight I could post a text with my U number, Flight #, and arrival time. That way if Crew Desk calls and I don't pick up, they could leave their messages and then search the feed for my U number to see if I've posted my status recently.

This would also be very useful for commuting in during a long call or if still airborne inbound after a short call window opens. Would save a lot of time on the phone for both pilots and Crew Scheds.
