I've heard the E170 side of OO is pretty awful for reserve time and I've heard bad things about horizon too. So my primary reason for going to Republic would be the idea of sitting reserve less than 3 months. Otherwise, it's almost better to sit at CPZ in misery until we bleed more fat. It's awful here, we need new hires to move things along, but have frozen hiring for 6 months, and now theyre talking about hiring in June, but people are mad because there's not enough flying for anyone as is. Roughly 40% of the company's FOs are on reserve.
I was hired last fall. One person in my class got a line out of training and the rest of us all had one within 2-3 months in NYC. Obviously things can change but RSV times are very short in LGA/EWR. Lots of opportunity to fly extra if you want it as well.
