How you do it is up to you. You can commute in the day of your trip or if you have an early show, it would require you to come in the night prior.
Most people who commute prefer a later show, so that can come in on the same day. At the end of the trip, they prefer an earlier end time, so that can commute home.
It's best not to commute, but if you have to do it the best ones are the 1 leg, 1hour ones on your own metal or parent company.
Coming out of ATL, do you think there will be any endeavor ATL to JFK/LGA? I heard commuting out of ATL is a nightmare so hoping to get on "own metal" out of ATL to NY (if thats where I will be to start).
