Not really, they may use you to cover an LGA trip. However, if they do that they must provide you Cab to and from LGA. It's considered a Dead head. So you get paid for 1 hour each way. If you're based in JFK for example you will always start and end a trip in JFK unless your last leg is a Dead head then you can request and alternate deadhead back home wherever that maybe. True, but if you are hoping for an early release to make a commute home even after the last flight has left your base for the day, if there are still flights at the other base they won't let you go because they "might still have a flight to cover". As a reserve you report to a specific base but you cover the entire system.
