Long time lurker here, glad to give some input finally.
I've been a "Captain" at BTQ for roughly 2 years so I've got lots of info. I accepted a position at a 121 so I'm now comfortable sharing my opinions online-both good a bad. If anyone is interested in a scoop I'd be happy to provide some honest answers. PM me or let me know in this thread.
As it stands it seems 500 hours is the sweet spot for hiring, but there's a long list of applicants and a small amount of employees to keep up with hiring. The DFW/MSP/ATL schedules are the best with no CDOs and not more than 4 turns in a day. Overnights are in less than great crew houses. The DFW domicile is a very organized operation in regards to passenger handling, but expect more reposition and maintenance flights on reserve as nearby DTO airport is a maintenance base. DEN is also a maintenance base.
For a 135 time builder this place seems like a better choice than many others.
I'll list some positives and negatives:
+
VERY competitive pay for an EAS 135, 401k, $200 off day call in pay, decent full coverage insurance, paid time off, with seniority an excellent and flexible schedule, CASS privileges with American and Southwest
-
Crew houses (they're nasty), rest period lengths, willingness to try and push pilots into uncomfortable situations (typical duty/rest and weather stuff), communication break downs when things aren't going as planned
There will be quite a few other PICs leaving from DFW and DEN so I expect a good bit of hiring going on in the next few weeks. Attrition at BTQ was pretty low for the last several months.
