I've found if you delete the old version first, it seems to help the process.
This update did not delete all my old notes. Deleting the old version would have.
I also observed a long "processing" time, and decided to forget about it and just go ahead and use the old version. When I opened it, I ran across the Terms and Conditions Agreement dialogue, Accepted, and that seemed to free the snag.
The Airport Moving Map is a nice new feature.
